During TLV in LDN’s food and drink festival there are a series of workshops, seminars and live experiences on offer for visitors to enjoy. Experiences include:

 

Drumming Workshop with Mayumana

10:30 – 11:30: Open to all ages, this immersive drumming workshop will be a vibrant experience, bringing Mayumana’s passion for percussion to Londoners. Free to attend, reservation essential.

  

Chocolate Making with Oh La La Chocolate

10:30 – 11:30: Join us for a fun and creative chocolate workshop, taught by Ela Harpak from Oh La La Chocolate, a Le Cordon Bleu graduate and an experienced chocolatier.

   

Songs and Movement workshop with Roots and Rhythm

10:30 – 11:30: Roots & Rhythm brings dance and movement to London in this workshop for children aged 3-5 years. Reservation essential.

   

Israeli Cookery Workshop

10:30 – 11:45: Bringing the scents, tastes and techniques of Israeli cuisine to London, the cookery workshop will offer the chance for children aged 7-13 to be inspired, making Lekach, the traditional honey cake served during Jewish New Year. Free to attend, reservation essential.

   

‘Wildfire’ Children’s Theatre performance

14:00 – 14:45: “Wildfire” is a touching drama about a young girl’s struggle to redirect herself in a positive way to a new and better future produced by by Orna Porat Children and Youth Theatre, Israel’s critically acclaimed youth theatre and the first of its kind in Israel.

   

Kidanza

Kidanza Dance School is the premiere academy for dance training for children aged three to sixteen years old. Based in London, and established by Hila Moussaioff in 2001, the classes provide students with an exceptionally high standard of teaching in all aspects of dance and performance, in the disciplines of ballet, jazz, tap, modern, character, hip-hop, street dance and musical theatre.

Demonstrating a rich and diverse tapestry of life, Kidanza’s performances have blended the ancient with the modern, and Eastern and Western cultures.

Kidanza will be performing at TLV in LDN throughout Saturday and Sunday, with performances taking place in the main festival hub at the following times:

Saturday: 13:40; 16:40   |   Sunday: 13:40; 16:00   |   Complimentary, no reservation required.

   

Israeli Dance Institute

There is no better way to display the spirit of modern Israel – its liveliness, its unique mix of culture and its longing for peace – than through Israeli dance.

The Israeli Dance Institute runs four troupes ranging from age 8 to 60 and they will be performing during TLV in LDN on Sunday at 13:00 and 14:20 in the main festival hub.

Kedma

The Kedma Band was founded by Yuval Havkin in London at 2005 and specialises in performing Jewish and Israeli Music. The band performs an array of musical styles, incorporating anything from Traditional Jewish and Klezmer music to updated Hasidic and contemporary Israeli music.

Kedma will be performing at TLV in LDN throughout Saturday and Sunday, with performances taking place in the main festival hub and the 1st floor foyer at the following times:

Saturday: Main hub – 13:00; 14:40; 16:00   |   Sunday: 1st floor foyer, throughout the day

Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music

The Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music is Israel’s largest, independent, professional music school for the advanced study of contemporary music. Over 600 students a work in a creative environment to encourage the best music learning experience possible.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday, TLV in LDN will play host to five members of the Rimon School, a band named Gumbo, who will be performing contemporary Israeli jazz music in the 1st floor foyer and the main festival hub at the following times:

Saturday: 1st floor foyer   |   Sunday: 13:20; 14:40; 15:40

Kid’s Zone

From 13:00 – 18:00 on Saturday and 13:00 – 16:30 on Sunday in the TLV in LDN festival main hub there will be a Kids’ Zone offering an array of creative activities for children to enjoy. The activities include creating a ‘Sandy Candy’ necklace with colourful sherbet, Halva fondant biscuit decorating, creating colourful sun-catchers and stencilling on porcelain plates.

Complimentary, no reservation required. Activities are suitable for children of all ages.

   

Mayumana

A vibrant explosion of song, dance and percussion (with a smattering of audience participation), Mayumana is one of Israel’s leading cultural exports. The power of each production lies in the strong emphasis placed on the unity and synchronisation of the group as a whole. At the same time, the talent and beauty of each individual performer is highlighted and celebrated.

Mayumana will be performing at a number of times throughout the weekend in the main TLV in LDN festival hub.

Infected Mushroom, supported by Nikki S and Andy Moor, are bringing a live band experience to the Roundhouse, bringing Israeli psytrance to London with their trademark multimedia visuals, enigmatic vocals and hypnotic arrangements, this performance won’t fail to impress.

Co-hosted by acclaimed LGBT events planners Shimon Shirazi, who brought Gay Pride to Tel Aviv, Eliad Cohen of Papa Party and Nadim Aoun, a notable LGBT promoter in London, to curate the Tel Aviv Beach Party. Taking place at The Coronet, Tel Aviv Beach Party will see Dana International perform amongst others. Expect great music, glam and glitter, and lots of fun!

Guy Gerber

Following last year’s sold out solo show at Koko, revered DJ, producer and label owner Guy Gerber will be playing all night long at prestigious Camden venue Roundhouse for the first time this September.

Having made the Resident Advisor top 5 touring live act for three years in a row, Guy is a truly multi-talented artist and well known for his extended sessions. Exemplified by his 12 hour session at Burning Man, fans can experience a taste of this at this rare Roundhouse event. Palestinian-Israeli actress, singer and songwriter, Mira Awad will be delivering a talk on her personal story, dealing with her complex identity: Palestinian by heritage, Israeli by citizenship. Born in Rama village in the Gallillee in 1975 to a Palestinian father and a Bulgarian mother, Mira grew up in a politically involved family. An activist and a big believer in dialogue and co-existence, Mira will share how she has managed to balance two cultures with impeccable equilibrium and a smile on her face.
